There Is Hope!

My name is Danny and I live with my wife of 24+ years in a suburb outside of Dallas in the great country, uh.., state of Texas! We raised three wonderful kids together. No grandkids yet, but we do have two dogs that we spoil like crazy.

I’ve been living over 20 years with chronic pain caused by three autoimmune diseases: 1) Psoriatic Arthritis, 2) Sjögren’s Syndrome, and 3) Ankylosing Spondylitis. I also battle Hypothyroidism which makes four autoimmune diseases. The fancy term is multiple autoimmune syndrome (MAS).

Each of these diseases by themselves can be very challenging—four at once have been unbearable at times. I can’t remember the last day I spent without pain but I do have good days and I have been able to manage the symptoms to a certain extent.

I am very blessed to have an office job where I can still work full time. Even though it is difficult, most days, I am not ready to stop working quite yet. I have been at the same company for over 25 years and I think I have a few more left in me.

If you are dealing with chronic pain, I have some idea of what you are going through and I hope I can help in some way through this blog. I welcome your comments, suggestions, and recommendations because we need each other in this battle.

Our mission at ‘Spoons for Me’ is to  provide hope and encouragement for chronic pain sufferers by sharing our personal struggles and successes.

We strive to give as much as we can, to as many people as we can, for as long as we can.

God bless… Danny
